The Death of the Arts?

What was your favorite part of elementary school? Math? Reading? Visits to the principal's office?

Or did you love your art classes? Learning to sing and play an instrument?

Yes, you did. Sure, you enjoyed other aspects, too...but there was just something special about those arts programs.

Except there are people out there who don't see it that way. And they are making those programs disappear from our children's lives.

If that sounds appalling to you, do something about it.

Watch your local news. See what school districts are eliminating their arts programs.

Do something about it.

Don't know where to start? Start here:

  1. Yep, it was my days with the high school band that are my fondest memories. Thanks for the link...I will do my part to save the arts!

  2. I can not imagine a school day without these items.

I'm off now to "save the world!" or at least a small piece of it:)

    Thank you.

  3. Art class! Makes me angry that some people don't understand the importance of exposing kids to all the options available...not just math & science, etc.
